WEIMARANER
RESCUE / ADOPTIONS
Thank you for exploring the option of adoption! There are many wonderful Weims out there looking for loving families. The Northstar Weimaraner Club has a rescue/adoption committee that focuses mainly on Weimaraners in Minnesota. All of us run this program on a volunteer basis in addition to full time jobs and activities with our Weims. Please be patient when waiting for us to return your phone calls and e-mails. If you have not received a call or email back within a week, please try again!
To be considered as a possible 'Forever Home' you must first complete our Adoption Application. Please email completed application to Chris Blaisdell.
We hear of Weimaraners that need homes every week. All of the Weimaraners in our program are fostered in club members' homes or at Abbie Lake Kennels, our Vice President's kennel. This means that we know these dogs well and can answer any questions you may have about them!
If you are considering surrendering your Weimaraner, please contact us. The Northstar Weimaraner Club is comprised of people who love Weims and have a lot of experience with them. We can help you find ways to keep your Weimaraner or we can take him/her into our rescue program to find your Weim a new home. To surrender your Weimaraner they must be up to date on vaccinations and you will be asked to pay a surrender fee of $50. This fee helps to support the rescue program (i.e. feeding and vetting your dog in preparation for adoption).
If you are interested in adopting a weimaraner, please complete a Adoption Application and contact Chris Blaisdell.
